Green Cross World Speakers especially connects knowledge with passionate commitment

However thin the outcome of the Summit last December in Copenhagen may be, a turning point has been reached. The world community, represented by its political leaders, has supported the goal to let the earth to warm up to no more than 2 degrees, so that our children's children will live on a healthy planet. But that is only the beginning.

This intention now needs to be transformed into a joint effort unparalleled in history. To be credible, the Millennium Goals that the world community accepted in September 2000 need to be completed at the agreed date in 2015. This is a great challenge.

To achieve all this we need a global partnership that will simultaneously be able to, as the Earth Charter states, "with respect for all life forms and human rights, reduce the degrading poverty and achieve the ecological integrity of our planet". To contribute to the necessary awareness Green Cross wants to help through the creation of this exceptional speaker’s platform.
